Polymeric Stone Dust for Natural Stone, Gator Dust is a unique mixture of polymer binders and calibrated crushed stone available in two colors STONE GREY and SAHARA BEIGE. Once Gator Dust sets, it becomes very firm and locks between the natural stone joints. This firm bond maintains the natural stones securely in place, being equally effective on both horizontal and sloped surfaces. Gator Dust is recommended for a variety of uses, including patios, walkways and pool decks. The natural stones have to be installed on a drainage bed system: maximum of 1" of bedding sand or ordinary stone dust, plus a minimum of 5" of crushed stone. Coverage: The quantity required depends on the shape and size of the natural stones as well as the width of the joints. One bag of 50 lbs of this product will cover between 20 to 30 square feet if the joints are about 1" to 2" wide and natural stones are about 2" to 2-1/2" thick. Gator Dust becomes very firm but will crack if the crushed stone base has movement. By following the installation instructions carefully, you will a very hard joining material. It should be noted that Gator Dust will continue to harden over time. Do not apply on wet or damp surface since the bonding action will cause Gator Dust to on surface and avoid proper sliding in joint. Do not use if rain is expected within 24 hours. Avoid excessive watering or flooding of stone areas. When installing natural stones around an underground pool a slope of 1/8 inch per linear foot away from the pool is mandatory. All natural stones surfaces must have a drainage slope for the gator dust to work at its optimum. For the pool coping blocks it is mandatory to use mortar in the joints. For the rest of the natural stones installation around the pool, you can use Gator Dust.
